Just a question...
Do you have or will you be buying a poppy this year?
I got mine yesterday, its one of the tie pin ones, mainly as the job I do, the paper ones get damaged easily.

I'm not allowed to wear a normal poppy or the tie pin ones in case it falls off into the food counters so I've got a sticker attached to one of our name badge backs.

Both my grandfathers served in WW1. My parents both served in WW2, as did all my uncles and aunts and I have a nephew in the RAF.
I always buy a poppy.

Mines on display on the dashboard. Had it about 3-4 years. Lives in the glove box
Always drop a quid in a tin, usually in Bolsover Market Place, army cadets collecting

That's an excellent write up of an old soldier as so right.

He seems to have overlooked that today's young men and women in the armed forces volunteered to join up and put themselves in harm's way. Their sacrifice deserves to be respected and remembered just as much as those in past conflicts who had no choice.

Respect for all of them. It's not something I have ever put myself forward for.

No cadets in Bolsover this morning, but they were outside Tesco's in Clowne
Popped a quid in the collection box but didn't take a poppy, not taking one for the sake of it
