Immobilise is a free service that allows anyone to register their property such as phones, bikes and laptops to further protect themselves from crime.

Registering your valuables with the service helps the police to quickly find the owners of recovered lost and stolen items.

It may be a police email but the organisation running the web site is a private company - just thought it needed pointing out.

I actually agree with Dave.
I don't think the website is suss or tricky. How much stolen stuff is actually recovered by the police though ?
You're just putting more of your info about yourself into an internet database.
Wouldn't most of us just claim off the insurance. It's what we pay it for.

What you're being asked to do, as I understand it, is list all your valuables on web site together with your name and address so that if they're stolen and are subsequently found they can be returned to you.

Imagine the outcome of hacking into that site.

I'll prefer to rely on my existing security measures - my guardian teddy bears - plus others I'm not listing here
