I can't remember a carnival in Chesterfield, not sure why as it's 25 years since the last one and I'm only a few years older than that
Seriously though, I'm not sure how I missed it as it appears according to the D.T to have started in the late 60's maybe it's because it was held at Stand Road Park.
Anyway we are in for the next Carnival on July 26th on the same site.
Proctors Fun Fair will be there as they were for the original event, and there will be the usual stalls, live entertainment etc. Also a football match will be taking place.
I hope the weather is kind for the event as there is a lot of hard work goes into them.
I reckon it's a lovely idea.
