Peak107, wind up or what. Sean and Becky's last show was today.
« on: February 19, 2014, 06:22:42 PM »
Just seen posts on Facebook from Sean Goldsmith and Becky Measures. They are moving to VikingFM in Hull.
Becky will be making the official announcement just after 8.00am in the morning.

Like I said, wind up or not ?

Wouldn't like to guess Fly. I don't tune in to it. Classic FM is my favourite

Today has just got worse and worse for me.
Must admit I've been a Sean and Becky fan for years.
I can also say I've raised a few good few quid for local charities with them via the forum.

So Peak FM spit their dummies out.
Where are Becky and Sean actually from, just thinking of the commuting or would they move to Hull?

Hi Barry.

Viking FM came in for us. Offered us a great contract that Peak couldn't ever match. We handed our notice in on Wednesday hoping we'd get a bit of time to say bye etc but they took the decision to take us straight off. I was then told I wasn't allowed in to say bye only Becky.

Think Becky is from Brampton area and Sean from Doe Lea.

I think the way the station has handled this will plummet their popularity stakes, for a while at least.  I have to admit Sean and Becky drove me potty but I know they are well liked presenters with other people.

I only listen in the car these days and actually like Radio Sheffield now.   ;D

Even over this weekend PeakFM has sounded a bit boring. TBH
New DJ's asking us to follow the station on Twitter or Facebook.
Der, half of Chesterfield probably already are pillocks.

I suppose it will take time for new presenters to get themselves established.  Though after 12 years, Sean and Becky will be a hard act to follow (for some).

I shouldn't really have an opinion on it being as I mostly listen to Radio Sheffield.  I'm also enjoying some of the discussions and the plays on Radio 4 too.  In fact one was so good recently that I ended up sitting in Morrisons car park so I could hear the end of it.  The shopping had to wait!

I listen to BBC Radio Derby on my school run to Derby. Its all the stereo will pick up out that way. Some interesting stuff and interviews at times. Lots of older tunes played too.
