Listings for live open music events in the east midlands
« on: January 24, 2012, 04:45:50 PM »
Hi,

I’d just like to let you know about a brand new local website that my friend has launched, www.opensessions.co.uk. It provides an up-to-date list of open music sessions to help local performers find events at which to perform, and lovers of live music to find (often free) music events. This ‘not for profit’ site is administered by a small group of enthusiastic amateur local musicians.

Please have a look at the site… If you have any information about an ‘open music’ event that is not listed, then please get in touch.

Hi David

Welcome to the forums. :)

This is right up my street - cheers for the info.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Hi David

There used to be an open mic at the three merry lads in cutthorpe but dunno if it's still on.

Hi Clive - welcome to the forums :)

Are you a musician then?

Hi Clive,

I had spoke to someone at the 'Three Merry Lads' a couple of weeks ago... I'm afraid their acoustic night has been postponed until they find someone to host it!

Hi, and thanks for the welcome.

Yeah, I play guitar a bit and sing (more wailing really!).

Hi again,

Just having a look at opensessions.co.uk again, I really like this post about keying and capoing, I hope the author does more of this:
