Music from Down Memory Lane
« on: January 25, 2012, 10:56:13 AM »
Some of my fondest memories are not of me when I was a child but when I was a teenager in the 1960s. My favourite has to be the start of rock festivals (unheard of before) like the Isle of Wight Festivals 1969 and 1970.

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Blimey, The Vic was my stompin ground from 1963 to 1967.  Anyone who was anyone pitched up there at some point.  Dave Berry was a regular, The Moody Blues, Small Faces, Merseybeats for example.  I even saw Bill Haley and The Comets there around 1968.

Happy days  ;D

I went to a music event in town when I was perhaps 7 or 8

Back in the days when tours consisted of several artists on the bill playing a few songs

Neither myself nor my parents can remember who was on

Bugger
.......................

1st act I saw at City Hall was c1973, Roxy Music with little known Leo Sayer in support

Biggest names I've seen live: Rolling Stones (Stafford 1976), Who (Sheff Arena late 90s)

Not at all Fly - it's all memory lane stuff anyway, good idea in splitting it though as lots of memories there for most of us.
