@Julia - LibDems and UKIP
« on: May 09, 2014, 01:32:40 PM »
I know you don't want to give publicity to UKIP but I'm seeing Farage all over the media appealing to loads of folks based on UKIP's immigration policies - but what should ordinary folks be aware of that is also UKIP policy, like the NHS and others, that would surprise the average person? And what are the LibDems alternatives to these policies?

Sorry this is not directly about the LibDems, but with floating voters and the possibility of another coalition, I think there is some mileage in it for you and your party.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

I Doubt it Pete, Her Leader Sold The LIBDEMS Soul, when they sided with the Cons, so, I Guess, He can get a Hard On.
He Has taken them back 400 to 500 yrs, and if anybody says they were not around then, that's exactly the point
I am making, that's what it means  For me.
Incidentally Pete, I am one of those Floating Voters, but will not vote Libdems, purely for what they have
allowed the Cons to put a Massive Threat on the NHS. Purely for their own gain.

May I just say, Julia's had well enough time to respond to us, but sadly, hasn't.
I have all correspondence on record.

Was in Clay X Tesco today and UKIP had a stall set up to canvas inside the shop.

Thought this was a bit unusual for a supermarket, bit different from having a charity stall.

One of their crowd was a former Chesterfield LibDem councillor

Keith is still with them is he? Given the work he did on St Helens ward with the minority communities I'm surprised he threw his lot in with Ukip

Sorry guys n galls, laptop's died tonight. I'm using the Nexus for this post.
Thankfully, all correspondence I have had with Julia is 'online', not on 'Outlook' on my lappy :-)

He said Stuart Brittain & Tom Murphy owe him a drink for splitting the LibDem vote. Also said he had disagreements with LibDems years ago (though he didn't leave them til he lost is seat).

What are your thought about political activity inside a supermarket (whatever party)? Wonder if they conned their way in as a charity.

I for one wouldn't want to be bothered by any party whilst I was shopping!
It will be interesting to see if other parties use the supermarket for their canvassing.

In 8 years the nearest I've seen is councillors rattling the collecting tin for the Mayor's charity. Other than charities or community things the only other thing I can remember in our foyer has been either one of the car breakdown services or occasionally a photo studio

I'd be wanting to see the manager to ask if he had head office approval. If he said he did, I'd take a photo of the canvassers and send it to Tesco for confirmation. I've no time for politicians of any hue at the moment; from top to bottom British politics is riddled with dishonest, self-serving, duplicitous incompetents.
