Delays at Horns Bridge

I use both roundabouts most days. Horns bridge is the worst of the two for lane discipline by a mile. Been cut up numerous times by people on the inside being in the wrong lane heading into town and also by people swerving to avoid the queue for the hasland bypass to get on to the IRR.
I think the lane discipline at T**** has more to do with poor layout. Coming from Sainsbury's there's only one lane for straight on or right. No reason why the left lane couldn't be used to head for Whitt moor.

We saw the tail backs on the bypass as we crossed over the bridge this morning

Got stuck tonight at 6.30pm on Jawbones Hill.  Eventually got on to Baden Powell Road and round by the swimming baths.

I diverted from Temple Normanton, Arkwright Arms, Inkersall, Troughbrook, Barrrow Hill, to get to New Whit.
7.4 miles. If I can be bothered, I'll post the milleage for the same journey around the A61 ring round later this week.

Sailed round twice today. Less hassle than normal. Of course it does help that it was 5.45 and 14.45 not rush hour!!

Avoid it at leading up to rush hour in the morning - queueing from the former Hunloke Arms into town. I was nearly half an hour late on the 51's (Chesterfield - Clay Cross - Danesmoor) yesterday, and another driver was over an hour late.
I don't know about evening rush hour - I've yet to experience that one.
I must confess though, hornsbridge roundabout seems better without traffic lights in my opinion.

Taking daughter to Calow hospital tomorrow but going to find an alternative way to get across to Newbold aftewards.
As for collecting her later I'll probably go through Wingerworth and cut across the back way heading for West street in town
We heard on the news that the actual 'Tree' will be up in December - just right to stick lights on it  )

Traffic light's cause queues IMHO 

I've said it before - drivers behave themselves better without traffic lights - no temptation to jump them & take more care seemimgly

    The other week the wife had a appointment at Calow and we left there about 5pm.went left into Calow along Brimm Common and down Brimm Road to Tesco and then up Peveril Road into Newbold.
It took about 15 mins.
