"None of the above" as far as I know. My understanding is that any funding used, and planning is all geared towards industrial outlets.
I've heard rumours about retail units but just think its talk. Someone mentioned McDonalds, but I have heard from a reliable source that its not true.
I think there are plans for housing nearby, but don't know about the actual site, either way, housebuilders aren't building at the moment, not worth the cost with the market being as it is so even if they buy the land, they will just sit on it for a few years.

the macdonalds is ment to be a 24hr drive thru that is going on the land opp the co-op garage and it been given planning permission what we need is someone like asda to open a 24hr supermarket to bring jobs to the area. i also heard that stagecoach the bus company is ment to be moveing on to there aswell as it provides national express with maitanace for there coaches and stores them over night for next day service

I don't think McDs will happen, at least not until there is much more there on site.

Not heard about Asda, they are meant to be opening at Drakehouse, and I know they are trying to get into Chesterfield, Morrisons opening in Bolsover though, so I wonder if planning would allow it, there are complicated rules that apply to supermarkets, but then again, the big supermarkets tend to ignore them. ;)

well look at tesco every corner you go round there seems to be another one. so the planning permission cant be that bad unless the council are getting something out of it if you know what i mean.

Theres building work now on the western side, as you come off going Northbound at Duckmanton.
I may have been wrong in my earlier posts as it looks like its the size of a fast food place, could be McDs / KFC, etc but can't find anything on 'tnet.

If you mean Plot 2, then its a hotel etc.

Nice to see work is happening there, its interesting to see just how fast they can build the new Andrew Page building.  Everytime we drive past loads has happened.

Presumably it will bill itself as a motorway services stop at 29a?
It's Costa and Burger king at both Woodall and Tibshelf so they may be trying to tap into those people who prefer McD's
Can't see it getting much other clientele

Can't see anything in the paperwork saying its McDs, ( I don't have any inside info), the shape looks like the KFC/Costa collabaration at Barlbourgh, but what ever it is, yes, good to see some development.

JR, aren't McDs also at Woodall and Tibshelf, they were in my day, in fact I was involved in the Tibshelf opening, but not sure now.
I suspect this model will be more like Barlborough than a specific motorway services, unless at some point, a petrol station opens. They will be looking at the whole site developing as it has done at Barlborough, with future developments going onto Markham.

It is McDs. Confirmed on the Markham Vale website. Where they go, others usually follow, so a good sign.
