Is that a fair representation of Sheffield though? Should you really replace Sheffield in the title with the area you are in?

Its a bit like taking one of worse areas in Chesterfield and saying it represents the whole town when in reality it has plenty of very good areas and in fact they are probably the majority. I'm not sure those that you show in the picture but would turn up if i was to roll up in Dore or somewhere on Abbeydale Road for example.

Looks like that's Arbouthorne for you WCT - no wonder you want to move!
Fair point Bransoj - not all of Sheffield is like that. I think it's fair to say that every town & city has it's problem areas. Sad, but true.

The house next door to me (attached) used to be a crack den.  I have some incredible photo's of the inside of the place that I had to lodge with a solicitor.  Cutting a long story short, I had to make moves with the council to come and board it up to keep the crackheads out.  I managed to contact the family who owned it and we worked together with the council to make it safe.  It got sold eventually much to my relief and is now owned by really lovely people who are great neighbours.  A happy ending though I realise it's not the case for everyone.

Drug users don't just stick to one area . I'm sure the well heeled areas of Sheffield has its fair share of drug users too like the poor areas. I live on Arbrouthorne estate bordering the Manor have done since 2002 during this time Iv seen a lot of changes in the city can't say for the better.

I wouldn't want to live in any city, or town as I like to be surrounded by woods and fields.
Yes the downside is we have to travel for shopping but I don't mind that.
On the other side there are those who like to be in the thick of things and would hate to live out of the Town or City.

We have problems with drug users in our village, the recent spate of break ins was I believe to feed the habit of drugs. Although I have never come across a stash of discarded needles like those.

It's a problem everywhere and we have our residents users.
Little wonder you want to move WCT, maybe your problem is compounded by the fact that you are in a more built up area and so more people who 'use'

Have you decided on a new place to live yet WCT?

Fair point Bransoj (if i was to roll up in Dore or somewhere on Abbeydale Road for example.) but I had to laugh.

Sheffield Alcohol Support Services (SASS) is at 646 Abbeydale Road, they also see drug users.
One of the country's biggest Rehabs for alcohol and drugs (not mine I hasten to add) is just off Abbeydale Road.

Haha although to be fair Abbeydale Road is a very long road! It runs from Totley, the better end, all the way down to just outside the city centre where it joins London Road.  Number 646 is probably closer to the slight less salubrious end of Abbeydale Road than the delights of Totley and Dore!!

That said there are some fantastic restaurants down that end...been to a fair few of them on Groupon deals for things like Currys, Turkish etc and never had an issue parking up, walking around and even the car still being there when we return. Also was down there at the Picture House Social Club on Saturday night for a gig. Cracking place inside the old cinema.
