Pub Demolished
« on: May 23, 2016, 04:42:33 PM »
The Horse and Jocky -  Tansley was being demolished when we past the other day.
It was a quaint old pub.

I am told however that there will be another pub built on the site??

Thanks fly for moving this  (y)

An update on this pub.

I drove past on Sunday and it's all down - except the front wall?

Never come across this before - why just the front of the pub left?

Perhaps they want to retain the frontage and combine it into a new build.
Think they did Low Pavements in town like it.
Here's a shot from Tenby I took this afternoon.

Could be the facade is listed or demolition not been finished ?. Theirs a pub on West Street,Sheffield called the Hallamshire Hotel but goes by another name the lower tiled section is listed but the rest of the building could be demolished would be a challenge for a developer . Some years back on Fargate theirs a listed Victorian building but only the front part was listed they pulled down the rest while they put around the protected part a metal frame to hold it up . Was a odd sight.
Ex Newbold ex Arbourthorne, Sheffield now sunny Dronfield.
