We need a little guidance...

Looking to sort out our neglected garden, need advice on bamboo specifically, want to use it as a screening plant. But have a whole load questions re plants.

I know nothing about gardening...  Anyone help? :(

Can't you just buy fence panels, I presume this is to screen from the new development.

No, its not for that, we will be doing someting there to keep it secure for Flapjack to roam around. But it's more about remodeling all our outdoor space - we have a shitty little front (I hate to call it) garden and a big tarmac covered back yard. They both need sorting and I thought I would take it on as a project for this summer.

How about a bit of trellis here and there with climbing plants.
Clematis, Sweat Pea.
Also a couple of large planters with varions shrubs or such.
Japonica etc.

Hang on a mo, just had an idea  :)

Can't really see the picture - sorry.
Turf it and buy some planters to put flowers in!
DON'T  buy any busy Lizzies this year - they had some sort of fly on them last year and had to be destroyed.

OK... get The Tarmac up, Lay some topsoil if needed, seed or turf it, give it plenty of water
buy a lawnmower. JOB Done.  ;D ;D ;)

Or buy Some Planters.

Like Fly fence panels and gravel board to keep dog in,or metal fence like i have just done with the fancy spikes on hard for people to climb over,both will need matinence metal fence less oftern or a combination of both if you want acess to park a car.
Cheapest option to cover yard may be as Kent said  grass it ( but you will have to cut it)or lorry load of pebbles (just cover tarmac) then  paving slabs or block drive and concrete are other options.
