Went out early last week, the 4 of us, for a meal. Obviously booked a taxi there and back as we would be having drinks during the meal.
We were picked up and taken to our destination, upon entering the premises I stopped the other 3 and said "Hands up all those who thought the taxi driver couldn't drive", the answer, in the positive, was unanimous. Imagine our disappointment then to find later, when climbing in the cab, the same driver was taking us home. All I can say about the return trip was it was like a car chase scene from a film, the standard of driving was abysmal.
I don't know how this guy ever passed a test {if indeed he did} it most certainly wasn't an English one, or how he even got a licence to drive a cab, these firms must be desperate for drivers.
I say the above as English was not his first language which I'm finding more and more with taxi drivers, obviously we don't use cabs on a regular basis but when we do it would be nice to know we are in safe hands.
I am not going to mention the company involved but I respectfully suggest they, indeed all, vet their drivers better than they obviously are doing at present.
