So where are they going to relocate the taxi ranks to, whilst it's brought down Knifesmithgate ?
Thousands of people in town centre. Can't wait to find out.

Slacker, any ideas ???

Lets face it, you and I will grind to a halt for an hour or so. Not so bad for me cos I will still be paid. Not so good for you possibly though.
Cant beleive weve got 4 torch runners coming through Calow.
Seems a bit daft - still, I suppose weve got to embrace it because we'll probably never see it again in our lifetime.

Had a call from Trevor Durham, (Interim Licencing Officer), from the Town Hall.
He confirmed Knifesmithgate 'will' be closed for a period on the day.

It was just a courtesy call to say the Town Hall had received my email enquiry.
He's in a meeting tomorrow about what will be happening with the taxis/ranks etc
and said he will get back to me when he has more solid information  :)

Cant wait.
Difference is I will get paid no matter what. Buses will somehow be diverted around the town centre, which will be pointless as the passengers who want to go home at that point in time will not know where to catch it. We will have more staff on the streets than drivers re-directing prospective passengers. We have the manpower to do that though.
Unlike you. I guess its just going to be mayhem for a while, and there's probably bugger all we can do about it.
Take it as it is on the day. It's likely to be different to what the council advise anyway.
Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible. In the meantime have a double/treble fag & coffee break! ;)

Hope you will be as lucky

Must admit I'm only going to see it to get a photo - can't say I'm excited... ;)

Had another call from Trevor Durham today.
Before I continue, I respect Mr Durham for contacting me.

It sounds like the County Council are making the decisions, they the boss.
So I'm not slagging Mr Durham or CBC  :)

Knifesmithgate will be closed from around 9.00am onwards.
They're proposing that the taxis will be still on Elderway.
They will be required to turn round at the bottom, and exit the way they entered, back onto the Donut/Saltergate.
There won't be any buses there to contend with  ;D
I mentioned, it's virtually impossible to turn onto Saltergate from Elderway.
He said it's still 10 weeks away, and there will be more consultations with all involved before the day.
Perhaps they (DCC), will have the police controlling traffic at the entrance/exit of Elderway.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. THUD. Just laughed my head off.
It's going to be one big gridlock day  8)

PS, where are the buses going. I didn't ask him. I don't think he knows, bless.

@Scimitar, you heard owt ??
