Duck run over and killed at the train station.
« on: March 31, 2012, 05:02:48 PM »
Contrary to reports on other forums and social networking sites.
The driver of the vehicle that ran over and killed the duck was 'not,' a station cabbie. (taxi driver)
He was a private hire driver that had just dropped off a fare at the station.
One of the station cabbies even threw his cup of coffee in disgust at the said drivers car
as he sped away from the station.

I will update with more information, if, and as, I receive it.

Yet again the taxi drivers of Chesterfield appear as a bunch of thugs  :(

Perhaps I should have put 'drove' away. I'm not implying he was moving fast.
No point editing my original post.

He either didn't see the duck, or didn't care  >:(

Hopefully one of the station cabbies got his number and has reported him.

Maybe it will be a while before he dares go back to the station if thats the case. Unless he has not realised what he's done, or he's that thick skinned he does not care.
Good - it will hit him where it hurts-in the pocket.
Wont bring the Duck back though will it?
Such a shame. :o >:(

I hope his next 500 jobs are to the station, and he has to refuse them, cos he daren't go there.
But I somehow doubt it  :(

No I didn't think you meant he/she was speeding Fly, just a question as to 'if' he was as I remeber one occasion years ago when I had picked up speed to get up the slack hill and a pidgeon flew in front of my car and landed in the road in front of me  :o I had three children in the back and no way was I swerving at 60mph to miss it ---  :'( unfortunately I hit it. Still feerl bad about it.
No reason to run over the duck though unless he/she really didn't see it. The other driver who threw the coffee maybe thought then that the duck had been seen???

Hands up and true honesty. I've hit two pheasants, both fatally sadly  :(
One was at Gilder wells on the way back from Shirebrook.
I stopped, put it the boot and we had a stew a couple of days later.

The second was on the M1 whilst I was doing about 70mph over taking an HGV.
It flew straight in front of me after missing the HGV.
Cost my gaffa £200 or more to replace the front valance, it got shattered.

Sadly, I once hit a cat  :'(
It jumped over a wall and landed in font of my taxi. I stopped immediately. Was doing about 15-20mph.
But I still heard a thud.
I saw the cat run off up a genel, so I got out the car and followed it.
Sadly it was laid there not looking too good.
I picked it up and knocked on a few doors nearby to try and find the owner.
I found the owner  :'(  As I passed the cat to the owner, it drew it's last breath and passed away  :'( :'( :'(
Yes, just been and wiped my eyes. 1999 was my Annus Horribuluos.

I hope this guy get's his cummupence. Batsard !!

I'm sure he will - got to have been recognised by at least some of the other cab drivers there.
If he didn't see the Duck it begs the question why not?
If he did see it ......then he's simply a rotten batsard.
Most people have a consciense, I hope he can sleep tonight. Git.

This subject got brought up again in another thread today - did they ever find out who the driver was?

Fly? You heard owt?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Sorry peeps.
It was a Club private hire driver. Silver Vauxhall Insignia.
Not posting his name, and not sure if it went any further.

I'll try and find out this week.
