At last, I wondered whether CF PMs were private or not.

Now, if your members want to stop coming on here under false names, we can all move on.

Thanks for posting Prospero.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Private to everyone but the Administrator - same with your forum. Same with any forum software to my knowledge. If you know how to access the database you can read them, they're only read if something is reported or there is some concern over the potential content.

No problem, just wanted to clarify the situation. I know there's an element of bad blood between us but i'd rather not air the dirty linen so to speak.

Oh, furthermore, I can't stop the members posting under false names but we did try to deter it once we heard what was happening.

May i just add to this, I being a newbie to both sites have recieved a 'sarcastic pm from one of CF members when they found out I had posted on here. No one elses business but my own where i post and because of the offending pm I don't use the CF anymore. Shame really as i enjoyed posting on there as i do on here, but i won't be bullied!
That's all I won't post on this again.

I regularly post on both. Don't see why that can't happen.
There should be no political undertones to free forums whatever is proposed to be discussed. It's a free forum, therefore any subject is available for discussion.
If the admins remove the posts for whatever reasons, then that is not free speech.
Its free speech, but I don't think its appropriate, so I will censor it, which is wrong.
If that element of free speech then gets a constructive and informative reply by people who disagree with its content - fine, but still open to discussion
Just because an admin thinks your comments are inapropriate is not, in my opinion worthy of deleting it.

I've never asked any CF members not to post on there instead of here, AFAIK  :)
People join and post on this forum by choice. Not pressure.

See my comments on t'other site. Practically word for word.
Open discussion time.
I'll either have access to both or neither.
Not bothered either way :P :P

Re: ChesterfieldOnline/ChesterfieldForum

I just don't understand why there is animosity between two Chesterfield based forums. As I've said I'm on both, and find them both very interesting.
It's just sad that folks can't get on with each other.
Thats all really.
I'm just a simple person, but think all the "politics" between the two sites (lets face it I've seen lots of comments), its about time folks grew up a bit.
My final point/ comment.
Not saying anymore.
Probably said too much anyway.

IMO, a place where you are not allowed to comment, or say what you believe, is not a forum. I might pop in for a quick read, but won't contribute. Their attitude seems to be very childish to say the least.
Credit to Pete and Fly for getting this forum off the ground so well, (and anyone else involved, Slacker??).

I stopped posting because posts were getting chopped if the moderators disagreed with what was being said. Not really bothered what people write on there because I don't read it any more.

I disagree. Credit to the members/posters of this forum.
The good people of Chesterfield and surrounding area's who want to voice their opinions freely.

Prospero still hasn't anwered my PM  ::)

And no animals, posts or threads were injured/deleted/locked during the time it took me to post this  :-X

I didn't get it off the ground, just gave it a bit of publicity on Facebook & Twitter
