Chesterfield named in drought update
« on: March 28, 2012, 09:30:54 AM »
Just reading on the Guardian website that Chesterfield is now suffering drought conditions, so no hosepipes folks!

Apparently it doesn't affect drinking water levels which are supposedly average to good.

ah you mean I shouldn't have been using the hosepipe to clean the guttering and channels this morning?
Can I use this as an excuse for not cleaning the windows this PM?
That said if you pardon the pun such an excuse won't wash with her indoors!!!!

It doesn't bother me, my car gets a wash once a year whether it needs it or not and this year's took place three weeks ago. I don't do gardening and the next time it rains the windows will get washed, even if it's next winter. As for bathing with a friend... that's fun, even at my age  ;)

We'd be Ok with a hosepipe ban, ours has a blockage on the outside tap, so it doesn't work anyway.
Note to self: Sort it this weekend  :)

Actually just because we are in drought doesnt mean we cant use hosepipes.

Was on Look North last night that hosepipe bans have not been introduced as yet.

The rule in our house is:

If it's yellow, let it mellow
If it's brown, flush it down

Surely (dont call me Shirley) Carlsberg Special Brew is a Mesters drink.
Not for ladies.Proper ladies that is.
Now Scroates on benefits I can understand.
Breakfast - perhaps a couple of litres of strong cider.
Go in to town on free bus pass.
Get some more cheap cider, unless its benefit day and get CSB.
Sit near Crooked Spire and tell each other about who has sexually enjoyed each other in already slurred speach.
As I witnessed on an early break having a bacon sarnie, having already done half a shift on the buses.
This is whilst tourists are taking photos of Crooked Spire.
What must they think?
Cant tell you the full dialogue of what they were saying, it was too disgusting.
It made me feel ashamed of our lack of policing of this area which is a no alcohol zone monitored by CCTV.
